Even Jennifer Lawrence, the Oscar-winning actress known for being cool and laid-back, admits that she recently experienced a “Bridezilla” moment.
In an episode that aired Thursday on Catt Sadler’s “Naked” podcast, Lawrence talked about why she took a year off from Hollywood to reflect, why she finds it important to be politically engaged and how she’s planning a wedding with art gallery director Cooke Maroney.

The latter thing is going really well – the dress and venue were easy decisions – but when it came to bachelorette party planning, Lawrence got upset.
“Yesterday was my only Bridezilla moment where I cried, because I thought I didn’t want to have a bachelorette party, and last minute I decided I did, but nobody was available because it was last minute,” Lawrence said. “And I started crying.”
She said she felt pathetic, sobbing to Maroney and ultimately realized she wasn’t distraught over the party, but the fact that she’s going to be shooting a movie in New Orleans, away from her fiancé for the first time in a while and in a town that she associates with ghosts.
Lawrence recalls him comforting her, saying: “Babe, we’ve gone from bachelorette to ghosts.” She finally snapped out of her tizzy and grabbed a beer. The actress told Sadler that she’s going to try and schedule a proper bachelorette weekend in the future, when she can give her friends more of a heads-up on the event.
As for her wedding day, she’s not nervous about that event. “No, not really,” she said. “I’m too lazy to be neurotic.”
She went on to explain why she’s confident that Maroney is the right partner for her.
“I wasn’t at a place where I was like, ‘I’m ready to get married.’ I just met Cooke and I wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry each other, we wanted to commit fully. He’s my best friend, so I want to legally bind him to me forever,” she joked. “Fortunately, the paperwork exists for such a thing. It’s the greatest. You find your favorite person on the planet, you’re like: You can’t leave.”
Lawrence confirmed her engagement to Maroney in February.
